The inspiration for this garden was a recently exposed brick wall, which gives character to the surroundings. Providing structure are two mature trees. A birch and an olive tree blend seamlessly with a variety of shade-loving plants, which thrive in the microclimate formed by the wall. The ephemeral and ever-changing plant palette provides a lush landscape year-round. The combination of straight lines delineating the different areas and soft vegetation creates a harmonious balance, in which light and shadow intertwine, accentuating the contrast of the garden. A carefully positioned fountain serves as a focal point within the wildflower lawn, attracting birds and pollinators alike. Nestled beneath the shade of the birch, a secluded seating area invites moments of contemplation and repose, completing the garden’s tranquil atmosphere.
